Fred Cassel,

Fred C. Cassel, Jr. passed away March 17, 2011. He was born on May 25, 1921 in Okmulgee, OK, and graduated from San Jacinto High School in 1939. He served as a Captain in the Army Air Corps during WWII. In 1981 he retired from Great Southern Life Insurance Company where he was the vice president, secretary, and a member of the board of directors, and moved to his brangus cattle ranch in Grimes County. He was a life member of the VFW, Navasota FFA Booster Club and Grimes County Fair Association. He was a former president of the Brae-Burn Country Club, former president of the Houston Golf Association and a member of Miramont Country Club in Bryan, TX.
He is survived by his wife of 68 years, Minnie V. Cassel; son, Jim B. Cassel & wife Diane of Irving; and granddaughter, Kelly Kelsey of Bellingham, WA.
