Mr. Franklin D. "Frank" Steward, Sr., 78, of Millican passed away Friday, December 9 at Hermann Hospital in Houston. The family will receive visitors from 6-8pm Friday, and funeral services are set for 11am Saturday, both at Nobles Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Peggy Hines officiating. Interment will follow in the Wheat Cemetery in Millican.
Frank was born in Kirvin, TX on October 13, 1933, the son of Clyde and Jewel (Lopes) Steward. He married Bonnie Patterson in Sequin on February 20, 1957 and loved her for 54 years. He was a member of the Pyramid Lodge #593 A.F. & A.M., North Zulch, and the Iola/North Zulch Chapter #458 Order of the Eastern Star.
He was preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Rhonda Kay Steward; and son, Franklin D. "Bubba" Steward, Jr.
Frank is survived by his wife, Bonnie of Millican; daughters and sons-in-law, Susie and Mike Cohen of Millican and Cynthia and Mark A. Conlee of Bryan; son and daughter-in-law, Bryan and Tammy Steward of College Station; brothers and sister-in-law, R.B. and Charlotte Milligan of Crandall and Jerry Milligan of Denton; 9 grandchildren and 8 grandchildren.
Serving as pallbearers are Charles Day, Tommy Lyons and Herb Forenot, all of Millican, Frank Crouch of Navasota, Ed Abatie of Anderson, Brad Patterson of Hearne, Mike Patterson of Gause and Billy Teer of Leona.
A benefit fund for Bonnie Steward has been set up at Prosperity Bank.
