Frances Diehl Canalito, 77, of College Station, formerly of Grimes County, passed away on Monday, March 17, 2025, in her home surrounded by her family. Visitation will begin at 5 pm to rosary time at 7 pm, Tuesday, March 25, 2025, at St. Mary’s Church in Plantersville. Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 10:30 am, Wednesday, March 26, 2025, at the church. Interment will follow in St. Mary’s Cemetery - Plantersville.
Frances was born November 14, 1947, to Jacob Diehl and Ruby Theresa Diehl in Navasota, Texas. She attended Navasota Independent School District. She met and later married Sam Canalito, Jr., and four children were born into this union. Throughout her life, she was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother whose kindness was touched by everyone's path she came across.
She had a passion for caring for others and cooking, making things like her awesome spaghetti, her fried chicken, and always helping her loving husband Sam, making potato salad while he made barbeque, all of which she lovingly shared with family and friends.
Frances loved being surrounded by loved ones, always filling the room with laughter and warmth. She especially enjoyed playing 42, often spending hours at the table making cherished memories with loved ones. Frances was a pillar of strength and love in her family, always putting others before herself. She will be deeply missed but forever remembered in the hearts of those who loved her.
She is preceded in death by her parents and her siblings, Theresa Diehl, Christopher “Christy” Diehl, Philip Diehl, Jacob Diehl, and Thomas Diehl.
Frances is survived in death by her daughter Jennifer Canalito, and her husband, Asencion Alvarado. Sons; Larry and Gary Diehl, Kevin Canalito, and his wife, Britney Canalito. Grandchildren; Hunter, Savannah, Taylynn, A.J., Mayan, Kristina, Kassidy, Brayden, and Kenzley. Brothers; Sonny and Alford Diehl. Sisters & Brother In-Laws; Mary and Charles Yorek, Elizabeth and Chuck Wymola. And many more family friends and relatives.
