Floyd L. Fuqua passed away peacefully with his daughters by his side on July 17, 2017 in Katy, Texas.
Floyd was born on August 9, 1942 in Navasota, Texas to Floyd and Helen Jean Fuqua. He attended Texas A&M University. Shortly after college, he proudly served his country in the National Guard. During this time, he met his soul mate, Frances Svoboda. They married in November, 1966.
Floyd was a loving grandfather and also had a passion for flying! Spending time with his friends at West Houston Airport was what he liked to do in his spare time. He enjoyed flying to nearby airports with his favorite being the Brenham airport. He was a frequent diner at the Southern Flyer.
Floyd was preceded in death by his wife Frances V. Fuqua; parents, Floyd and Helen Jean Fuqua and sister Katherine Bedford.
Floyd is survived by his daughters Stephanie and William Ulrich of Katy and Laura Jean Fuqua, also of Katy; grandchildren Bradley, Hunter, Ian, and Bryn and brother David Lee Fuqua as well as other loving family members and friends.
Visitation is from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, July 19, 2017, at Nobles Funeral Chapel. A graveside service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, July 20, 2017, at Erwin Cemetery with Rev. Larry Andrews officiating.
