Mrs. Evita Dominguez, 62 of Navasota, passed away Thursday, January 3rd in Bryan. Visitation with family and friends will be held from 5:00 - 7:00 pm, Tuesday, January 8th at Nobles Funeral Chapel with a rosary following at 7:00 pm. A celebration of her life will be at 10:00 am, Wednesday, January 9th at Christ Our Light Catholic Church with Rite of Committal following in Oakland Cemetery. Rev. Eli Lopez will officiate. Arrangements are under the direction of Nobles Funeral Chapel.
Evita was born in Navasota on August 21, 1956 to Tony, Jr., and Anastacia (Zapata) Mendez. She was a devoted mother and fulltime homemaker that that loved working in her flower gardens and spending time with her children and grandchildren. Her door was always open and she welcomed everyone with her charasmatic smile and open arms. Attending church and daily prayer was a huge part of her life, as was supporting her children’s dreams. She was the rock of her family; the glue that held them together. Evita’s positive outlook on life was contagious to those around her.
She is survived by her husband, Martin Reyes; mother, Anastacia Mendez; daughters and sons-in-law Constance and Narciso Posadas and Angelina and Francisco Garcia; sons and daughter-in-law, Gilbert Dominguez, Jr. III; and Joey and Caitlin Torres; sisters and brother-in-law Rosemary and Juan Alfaro, Lydia Torres and Susie Torres; brothers and sister-in-law Raymond Mendez, Manual and Elaine Torres and Robert Torres; grandchildren Gabriella, Ivan, Jasmine, Ian and Azalia Posadas, Abbygale and Joe Anthony Mendez, and Eva and Francisco Garcia; and great-grandchildren Davian and Viviana Posados.
Serving as pallbearers are Martin Reyes, Narciso Posadas, Ian Posadas, Francisco Garcia, Joey Torres and Joel Reyes.
Evita was preceded in death by her father, Tony Mendez and brothers Joe Mendez and Jessie and Andrew Torres.
