Evelyn was born in Hempstead, TX on May 4, 1933 to Fred H. and Corinne (Blumberg) Heise. She was raised in a large family and had the joy of living near many cousins. After high school, she moved to Houston following in her sisters’ footsteps. Evelyn attended the University of Houston where she met her future husband, L.V., and they married at the First Methodist Church in downtown Houston. Together they raised two children in a neighborhood full of young families in South Houston. They bought a place in the country where they would spend weekends as a family. After L.V.’s retirement, they moved to Richards permanently. Evelyn worked for the City of Huntsville as the Secretary to the City Manager and enjoyed the friendships she made during that time. After retirement, she and L.V. traveled some but were content to live in the country and enjoy a simple life. She loved her children and grandchildren deeply and was delighted with the birth of her great grandson in 2017.
Mrs. Teston is survived by her daughter, Laurie Teston; son Gary Teston; daughter-in-law, Dianna Teston; sister Anne Chamberland; grandchildren Daniel and Brianna Teston, Amy and Steven Prather, Jacy Teston and Jordan Bauer and great-grandson, Ellis Teston.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband L. V. Teston; sisters Catherine Truelock, Myrtle Heise and Mary Lou Galliher and brothers Fred W. Heise and Herman Heise.
