Emma Busse Finke, 99, of Navasota, died peacefully Monday morning, January 24, 2011, at the Grimes St. Joseph Hospital in Navasota.
Emma was born August 23, 1911, in White Hall, Texas, to Louis and Ida Schroeder Busse. Emma attended school in White Hall and was a lifelong member of Salem Lutheran Church. She married the love of her life, Herman Finke, on December 3, 1931 at Salem Lutheran Church.
Emma was preceded in death by her parents; husband; son, Winfred Finke; and sister and brother-in-law, Minnie and Henry Feldmann.
Emma was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and aunt that will be dearly missed. She is survived by daughter-in-law, Joyce Buck Finke of Conroe, Texas; grandchildren, Justin Finke and wife Heather of San Diego, California and Janith Stowers and husband Scott of Houston, Texas; great-grandchildren, Emma Ashton Finke and Brendan Ryan Finke of San Diego, and Morgan Paige Stowers of Houston; along with numerous cherished nieces, nephews and friends.
Serving as pallbearers will be nephews and great-nephews: Victor Becker, Art Courville, and Billy Robbins, all of Navasota; Ralph Genz of Pflugerville, Texas; Mark Bell of Pasadena, Texas; and Wilbur Finke of Cypress, Texas.
Visitation with the family will be held Wednesday, January 26, 2011, from 5-7 p.m. at Nobles Funeral Chapel, 402 East Blackshear, in Navasota. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Thursday, January 27, 2011, at Salem Lutheran Church in White Hall with Pastor Chris Richardson officiating. Interment will follow in the Salem Lutheran Church Cemetery.
