Elvin Earl "Bugs" Dudley, 76, of Iola passed away Monday, December 3, 2007 at St. Joseph Regional Health Center in Bryan.
Funeral services are set for 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, December 5 at Evergreen Freewill Baptist Church in Keith with the Rev. Randy Bishop officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. Visitation is Tuesday at Nobles Funeral Chapel with the family present from 5:00-7:00 p.m. Arrangements are under the direction of Nobles Funeral Chapel.
Mr. Dudley was born on October 13, 1931 in Keith, son of Lizzie O. (Fitzgibbons) and Chester E. Dudley.
Elvin married Mary Sue Stedman in Keith on September 1, 1951. He was a master at woodwork and loved fishing, hunting, and tubing down the river.
Mr. Dudley was preceded in death by his parents.
He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Mary Sue Dudley; daughters & son-in-law, Terry Elizabeth Dudley of Houston and Rhonda Gail & Brian K. Lorren of Rockport; son and daughter-in-law, Freddy Eugene & Nancy M. Dudley of Guy; sister and brother-in-law, Esta Merle & Richard Conley of Iola; brothers and sisters-in-law, Jerry Lynn & Jane Dudley of Kingwood and Harold Eugene & Linda Dudley of Iola; grandchildren, Shane, Dusty, Misty, Louis, Sarah, Emma, and Cole; and great-grandchildren, Allison and Louis, Jr.
Serving as pallbearers are J.R. Branson of Toledo Bend, Tim Carson of Iola, Raymond Dyer of Crosby, Robert Dyer of Channelview, W. Lee Hedt of Needville, Gary Kersh of Brazoria, Tracy Riggle of Alvin, and Bobby Spivey of Sommerville.
In lieu of flowers, charitable contributions may be made in his memory to Evergreen Freewill Baptist Church in Keith.
