Elizabeth Ann Webb

Elizabeth “Betty” Webb (81) of Iola, peacefully went to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on November 18, 2024. Betty was born on April 24, 1943 in Houston, Texas to Ramon Veles and Myrtle Veles. Betty married Pat Webb on June 4, 1961 and remained a devoted wife for 59 years. Funeral services will be held on Friday, November 22, 2024, at 11:00 AM, at Enon Missionary Baptist Church in Iola, Texas. Interment will immediately follow in Zion Cemetery with Rev. Mike Fisher officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Nobles Funeral Chapel.

Betty was preceded into heaven by her father, Ramon and mother, Myrtle, and sisters Hannah Gulsvig and Ramona Sikes. She will be deeply missed by her daughter Julie Thornton and son-in-law Mark Thornton; granddaughter Kristen Snokhous and husband Jason Snokhous; granddaughter Alyssa Transue and husband Chris Transue; and great-granddaughters Emma Transue, Sadie Snokhous and Summer Snokhous, as well as many beloved nieces and nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews, other extended family members and many dear friends.

Betty graduated from Channelview High School in 1961. She went to work for Baker Hughes later that year. She also worked at Colonial Hills Elementary School and the Iola Post Office.

Betty gave her life to Christ at Enon First Missionary Baptist Church in Iola and was a faithful member, Sunday School teacher, Church Secretary and Church piano player.
