Mr. Earnest V. Zaragoza, 68, of Navasota passed away Saturday, August 13th at his home. Visitation with family and friends will be held from 5:00 - 8:00pm, Tuesday, August 16th at Nobles Funeral Chapel. A celebration of his life will be Wednesday, August 17th at 1:00pm at First Baptist Church of Navasota with interment to follow in Oakland Cemetery. Rev. Henry Sanders will officiate. Arrangements are under the direction of Nobles Funeral Chapel.
Earnest was born September 29, 1947 in Huntsville, Texas to Francisco and Margarita (Villisana) Zaragoza. He graduated from high school and enlisted in the United States Marines. He proudly served his country as an active Vietnam combat veteran. He met and married Yolanda Acosta in 1970 and together they raised three children. He was a machinist by trade and a proud PoPo, PaPaw, Poppy and Abuelo. He loved his grandchildren with all of his heart and faithfully traveled to all of their football, baseball, basketball and choir functions.
He is survived by his wife, Yolanda Acosta Zaragoza of Navasota; daughter and son-in-law Pam and Mike McLeod of Katy; sons and daughters-in-law Francisco and Traci Zaragoza of College Station and Justin and Rachel Zaragoza of College Station; sisters and brother-in-law Paula and Raymond Acosta and Juanita McGilberry, all of Navasota; brothers and sisters-in-law Josie Zaragoza of Navasota, Mary Zaragoza of Hempstead, Phillip and Laura Zaragoza of Spring, Frank Jr. and Frances Zaragoza of Navasota and Robert Zaragoza of College Station and grandchildren Brennon and Aiden McLeod of Katy; Skylar, Analise, Quinn and Iggy Zaragoza of College Station, Conner Zaragoza of College Station and Zach Yeager Zaragoza of College Station..
Serving as pallbearers are Adam Zaragoza, Shawn Stuart, Frank Crawford, Todd Gonzales, Joe Cervantes and Abel Aguayo, all of Navasota, Kevin Cobb of Conroe and Ryan McGallion of The Woodlands.
Earnest was preceded in death by his parents and brothers Henry, Pete and Marion Zaragoza.
