Mr. Earl John LaFontaine Jr.

Earl John LaFontaine, Jr., 80 of Navasota, Texas passed away peacefully Wednesday May 6, 2020, surrounded by family at his home. Visitation will be on Tuesday, May 12, 2020, from 10:00 am to 2:00 pm at Nobles Funeral Chapel. There will be a private graveside service. A memorial service will be held to celebrate his life at a later date. Arrangements are under the direction of Nobles Funeral Chapel.
Earl was born in New Haven, CT, on September 17, 1939, to Earl Sr and Julia Daly LaFontaine. He grew up in New Haven and graduated from Eli Whitney Technical High School with a machinist degree. He proudly served his country in the Air Force, as a loadmaster on the C-130 aircraft. While stationed in San Antonio, he decided to make Texas his home. He made the move in 1974, and two years later he married Judith Rush Hardcastle and together they dedicated their lives fully to their faith, family, and friends.
Earl loved Jesus with his whole heart. He was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Navasota where he served as an elder for 3 terms and 1 term as trustee. He also taught Sunday school.
Earl was preceded in death by his parents Earl Sr and Julia (Daly) LaFontaine. He is survived by his wife of 43 years, Judith Rush Hardcastle LaFontaine; sons & daughters-in-law, Phillippe J. & Michon LaFontaine and Kenneth C. & Natalie Hardcastle; daughters & sons-in-law, Tracy & Robert Lehmann, Susan & James Lebeck, Aimee Jeanette LaFontaine, Danielle LaFontaine, Shannon & Danny Moses, and Leah & Gary Martin; sister-in-law, Patty Holder; grandchildren & their spouses, Travis Lehmann, Juliana Lehmann, Ryan Lebeck, Caden LaFontaine, Colyer LaFontaine, Robert Higginbotham, Sam Higginbotham, MaKenna Kingsley, Tristan Olson, Marion Falco, Grayson Roberts, Colton Moses, Caitlan Moses, Lindsey & Scott McReaken, James Bobal, Ian Hardcastle, Aileen Hardcastle, Melina Hardcastle, Anna Hardcastle, Jason & Lauren Martin, Reagan & Devon Martin, Vera & Carter Allen, and Corey & Yanni Paulson; and great grandchildren, Tyler Lehmann, Matthew McReaken, Brooks McReaken, Ethan Munson, Evelyn Munson, Rosalie Martin, Sloane Martin, Freya Paulson, and Minerva Paulson.
Serving as pallbearers are Phillippe LaFontaine, Robert Lehmann, James Lebeck, Danny Moses, Gary Martin and James Evans.
The family wishes to thank Salina Lindley with Visiting Angels and Traditions Hospice for their loving care.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests making a memorial contribution to the Nehemiah Center at the First Presbyterian Church of Navasota.
