Dorothy V. Worbington, 79, formerly of Navasota passed away Tuesday, November 13, 2007 at the Sheridan of Navasota.
Funeral services are set for 10:00 a.m. Saturday, November 17 at Nobles Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Jack Jeter officiating. Interment will follow in Oakland Cemetery. Visitation will be Friday at Nobles Funeral Chapel with the family present from 5:00 - 7:00 p.m. Arrangements are under the direction of Nobles Funeral Chapel.
Mrs. Worbington was born April 25, 1928 in Navasota, daughter of Clara (Harris) and Anton Petersen. Dorothy will always be remembered for the green thumb she possessed with her gardening.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Sidney Worbington; four sisters and four brothers.
Dorothy is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Carol Ward and Robert Neely of Bryan; son and daughter-in-law, Vernon & Carol Guest of Gonzales; brother and sister-in-law, Robert and Georgia Petersen of Navasota; six grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren.
Serving as pallbearers were Gary Crawford of Navasota, Ryan Fridrich of Gonzales, Craig and C.J. Ward of Bryan, and Donald Wayne and John Neal Roese of Washington.
In lieu of flowers, charitable contributions may be made in her honor to the American Cancer Society at 3207 Briarcrest Drive in College Station, TX 77802.
