Mrs. Dorothy Jane (Katkoski) Walkoviak, 80, of Richards passed away Thursday, February 28, 2013. Visitation will be Friday, March 1st from 5:00 -7:00 p.m. at Nobles Funeral Chapel followed by a recitation of the Rosary at 7:00 p.m. A funeral mass is scheduled for Saturday March 2nd at 10:00 a.m. at St. Stanislaus Catholic Church with the Rev. Rodolfo "Jojo" L. Cal-Ortiz officiating. Rite of committal will follow in St. Stanislaus Church Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Nobles Funeral Chapel.

She was born in Navasota, Texas on February 19, 1933, the youngest child in a family of eight to George and Mary (Pasket) Katkoski.

She married Chester James (Jesse) Walkoviak of Richards on October 29, 1949. Together they raised four children on their dairy farm. Jesse preceded her in death on July 7, 1988 after 38 years of marriage. She married Joe Recknor of Buffalo on April 7, 1999. Joe preceded her in death on September 30, 2012.

Dorothy was a member of the St. Stanislaus Alter Society in Anderson and the VFW Ladies Auxiliary in Navasota. After raising her family Dorothy went to cosmetology school and opened a beauty shop next to her home where she worked for many years until retiring. Throughout her life she enjoyed dancing, fishing, gardening and going on as many cruises as possible.

She is survived by her daughters and son-in-law, Carolyn and George Henry of Dallas and Joanie Wilis of Anderson; sons and daughters-in-law, Greg and Joy Walkoviak of Anderson and Tim and Kathy Walkoviak of Caldwell; seven grandchildren and nine great grandchildren.

Serving as pallbearers are her nephews, Raymond and Ricky Katkoski and Junior Ulkie, her grandson, Aaron Walkoviak and grandsons in-law Shane Garthoff and Chris Greenwood and grandson, Tim Walkoviak, Jr. of Anderson as an honorary pallbearer.
