Ms. Dorothy Nelson, 88, of Jasper passed away Wednesday, July 25, 2007, in Jasper.
She was born on August 10, 1918, in Denton, Texas, daughter of Lona Bell Barnes and Charlie Vester Williams.
Ms. Nelson is best remembered for her love of soap opera TV.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, July 28 at Nobles Funeral Chapel in Navasota with Joe Hejl officiating. Interment will follow in Plantersville Cemetery. Visitation will be at Nobles Funeral Chapel on Friday, July 27 from 5:00 - 7:00 p.m. .
Serving as pallbearers are Tony Ward and Tony Ward, II of Plantersville, Bobby McIntire and James Roberts of Fort Worth, Bruce Ward of Conroe, and Dustin Henning of Goliad.
Arrangements are under the direction of Nobles Funeral Chapel.
Ms. Nelson is survived by her daughters and son-in-law, Shirley Shugrue of Lake Veilla, IL, and Charlotte and Ronnie Welch of Round Lake, IL; son, Gene Ward of Jasper; sister, Helen McIntire of Fort Worth; brother and sister-in-law, Charles and Charlene Williams of Hillsborough; brother-in-law, Walter Ward of Plantersville; eighteen grandchildren; and numerous loving nieces, nephews, and great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Charlie and Lona Williams; and sons, Teddy and David Ward.
