Mrs. Dorothy Louise (Becker) Leiber, 83, of Navasota passed away Tuesday, January 31st at Golden Creek Healthcare and Rehab. Visitation with family and friends will be held from 5:00pm to 7:00pm on Friday, February 3rd at Nobles Funeral Chapel. A celebration of her life will be at 10:30am on Saturday, February 4th at Zion Lutheran Church in Anderson with interment to follow in the church cemetery. Rev. Kermit Bostelman will officiate.
Dorothy was born October 21, 1933 in White Hall, Texas to Martin and Minnie (Finke) Becker. She was baptized on November 19th of that same year and confirmed on May 11, 1947. She married Alfred Leiber on December 16, 1951 at Salem Lutheran Church in White Hall. Dorothy began working at Duke & Ayres in Navasota while still in school, and after graduation in 1952 began working fulltime and then becoming the store manager in 1969. She continued working there until the store chain was sold in 1983 and then worked at Wal-Mart until her retirement in May of 1989.
Mrs. Leiber is survived by nieces Norma Klein and husband Harry of Georgetown, Debbie Simecek and husband Ray of Dallas and Dottie Becker of Victoria; nephews Norbert Becker and wife Jane of Victoria and Roy Becker of Angleton; nine great nephews and two great nieces.
Serving as pallbearers are Harry Klein, Ray Simecek, Joshua Simecek, Ryan Becker and James Boone.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Alfred Leiber, and niece June Jeanette Conner.
