Donald Wayne Robinson, 83 of Navasota, passed away peacefully at his home on Wednesday, May 18th. Donald was born in Quinton, Oklahoma on April 15. 1939 to Roy Robinson and Tommie Luna (Anspache) Robinson – he was the youngest of seven children. In July of 1963, Donald met a Miss Wanda Herrin. The couple married in Dallas on October 12, 1963, just a few short months later. Together, they welcomed and raised five children.
Don was baptized as one of Jehovah’s Witnesses in July of 1962. The family moved to Navasota in 1971 to help form the first congregation in town. The ministry and helping others come to know about Jehovah God and his son, Jesus Christ was the center of his life. You may have seen him and Wanda walking hand in hand in the ministry all over Navasota and the surrounding area. He supported his family by working as a carpenter in construction and he retired from Mid South Electric in 2000. Donald enjoyed hunting, shooting, fishing and especially canoe trips with his sons, Daryl and Roy. He often took the family camping in the Piney Woods, Lake Somerville and Galveston State Park. He had numerous friends that he called family, brothers and sisters. “He fought the fine fight, he ran the race to the finish” 2 Timothy 4:7
We look forward to welcoming him back soon in the resurrection where there will be no more pain or suffering - Revelation 21:3,4 Rest in peace, daddy!
Donald is survived by his wife of 58 years, Wanda Robinson; sons Daryl Robinson and wife Sherie and Roy Robinson and wife Kelly; daughter Venia Baldobino and husband Bino and Cheryl Benoit and husband Arnold; grandchildren Jared, Jeremy, Jessica, Bobby, Aleesha, Dakota, Adrianna, Delaney and Ciara and 11 great-granchildren.
