On Saturday, March 26, 2011, Dimple Merle Hancock, 93, of College Station, was called home to be with her Lord after a life well lived. Visitation is scheduled for Monday, March 28, from 5-7 p.m. at Nobles Funeral Chapel in Navasota. Funeral services will be held at Nobles Funeral Chapel on Tuesday, March 29, at 2 p.m. with Brother Clyde Strong officiating. Interment will follow in Oakland Cemetery.
Dimple was born in Marthaville, Louisiana on July 20, 1917 to James and Blanche Knott. In 1935, she married Charles Hancock and settled in Navasota. She was a devoted mother not only to her children, but opened her home and heart to others. Dimple loved hunting and traveling with her husband, quilting, cooking, and gardening. She will be remembered for her strong Christian faith and the way she made everyone she met feel special.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband of 48 years, sisters Sybil Perry and Avyl Terrell, son-in-law Charles Wilson, and granddaughter Peggy Kapchinski.
Survivors include her sons Jimmy Hancock and wife Patsy of Marble Falls, TX, Artie Hancock and wife Jeanie of Sherman, TX; daughters Bib Kapchinski and husband Louis of College Station, TX, and Mary Lea Wilson of College Station, TX; brother Uvey Knott and wife Betty of Lubbock, TX, 15 grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren, and 7 great great-grandchildren.
