David’s story began June 5, 1961 in Houston, Texas. He was the fourth and youngest child born to H. L. and Louise (Brown) Patterson. David grew up in Anacoco, Louisiana and graduated high school in 1978. The following year, David moved to Houston to a pursue a career in iron working. More than twenty years later, with a desire to be closer to family and further from the Houston rat race, David retired and moved to Hearne. It was here that that life slowed down and time allowed him to spend time with family, enjoy fishing, watching sports. He loved all sports, but followed baseball and NASCAR religiously. He was a diehard Houston Astros fan and coached many a game from his recliner. Most of all, though, David was just proud to be a Patterson.
He is survived by his mother, Louise Patterson; brothers and sisters-in-law Mike and Susan Patterson and Doug and Betty Patterson; sister Brenda Gordon; nephews Derrick Gordon and wife Carrie, Brad Patterson and wife Sarah and Jeffrey Gordon and wife Maria; niece Tammy Mushinski and husband James; great-nephews Craig, Vincent, Victor and Joshua Gordon and Jackson Patterson and numerous other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his father, H. L. Patterson; twin brother Daryl Patterson, and brother-in-law Darvis Gordon.
