Davey was born in Yakima, Washington on July 26, 1956 to David Lee Grubbs, Sr., and Jacqueline (Stow) Grubbs. He loved classic country music and the Grand Ol’ Opry, playing Bingo, traveling and cooking on the grill. Although an avid Astros and Texans fan, the team he cheered for the loudest was any team his grandchildren were playing on. His proudest accomplishments in life were his five children.
