Darl “KD” Caddie, 77 of Bedias, passed away Tuesday, March 30th at his home. A private memorial service will be planned at a later date. Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Nobles Funeral Chapel.
KD was born in Hancock, Maryland, on January 26, 1944 to John K. and Pearl (Landers) Caddie. He worked in the construction field most of his life, and in 1974 relocated to Bay City for work. This would begin a lifelong love affair with the Texas coastline. Upon his retirement, he purchased a modest place in Bedias where he enjoyed piddling around the place and tinkering with things that needing fixing. He enjoyed people, but strongly preferred the peace and solitude that his boat, a german shepherd, and a fishing trip to Matagorda offered. He loved all animals and any pro football team playing the Dallas Cowboys. He was very mechanically inclined and could fix just about anything.
KD is survived by his daughters and son-in-law, Darrell Ann “Dee Dee” Caddie, Heather and Julian Mendiola, and Heidi Tinch; and grandchildren Chad Caddie and Alessa Doolan.
