Cynthia "Cindy" Maher, 62 of Plantersville passed away Saturday, December 31st at her residence. A graveside service will be held at 1:00pm, Monday, January 9th at Plantersville Cemetery in Plantersville, Texas. Arrangements are under the direction of Nobles Funeral Chapel.
Cynthia was born August 6, 1954 in Hudson, Massachusetts to Helen Lafort. She married Robert Maher and together they had one child. She attended the Fanning Girls Trade School in Worcester, MA and graduated in 1972. Her career as a Histotechnologist began in animal research and soon expanded to human pathology. She worked for M. D. Anderson Hospital for several years and was the recipient of several distinguished awards and certifications. Cindy had a brilliant mind and a gorgeous smile. She was fun loving, caring and had a wonderful sense of humor. She often travelled to the east coast to spend time near the ocean. Cindy was known for her cooking, baking and listening to David Bowie. She loved family events and enjoyed sharing in the happiness of others.
She is survived by her spouse, Robert Maher of Worcester, Massachusetts; son Joe Maher, also of Worcester; sister Donna Rolfsman; brother Howard Stirk and long time companion Michael Belair and his family Susan, Tom and Patty, as well as several nieces, nephews and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents.
