Cruz Castro, Sr., 85, of Navasota, passed away Saturday, August 2, 2008. Visitation will be held at Nobles Funeral Chapel in Navasota on Monday, August 4, from 2:00 to 8:00 p.m., with a prayer service starting at 7:00 p.m.. Funeral services are scheduled for 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, August 5, at Nobles Funeral Chapel with Delores Baldobino, Jr. officiating. Interment will be in Oakland Cemetery in Navasota. Arrangements are under the direction of Nobles Funeral Chapel.
Cruz was born on Friday, November 24, 1922 in Monterrey, Mexico, the son of Juan Cruz & Juanita (Moya) Castro.
He is preceded in death by his parents and sons, Manuel and John Castro.
Cruz is survived by his wife of 65 years, Refugia Castro of Navasota; daughters & sons-in-law, Ruby Tijerinia of Round Rock, Rosemary Ramos of Navasota, Vera & Albert Pimentel of Navasota, and Mary & Raul Penaloza of Navasota; Sons & Daughters-in-law,Rudy & Janet Castro of Navasota, Charlie & Romona Castro of Navasota, Cruz Jr. & Orvalia Castro of Navasota, Jessie Castro of Nederland, Raymond Castro of Navasota, and Robert & Sandra Castro of Navasota; sister, Ofilia Valdez of Ft. Worth, 29 grandchildren and 24 great grandchildren.
