Concepcion Arauza, 61, of Houston passed away Saturday, October 25, 2008, in Weathford. A memorial service will be held at 10:00 a.m. Thursday, November 6 at Christ Our Light Catholic Church with Rev. Raul Marterior officiating. A luncheon will follow in the St. Patrick Hall located at the corner of Church St. and Manley St.
Concepcion was born Thursday, October 2, 1947 to Franciso Arauza and Dolores Cisneros, in Houston. She earned her Masters degree in Education from Sam Houston State University. She enthusiastically expanded her education earning several awards and certificates in continued education. She taught ESL classes at Sheldon ISD, and she loved to read and garden in her spare time.
Ms. Arauza is survived by her children, Benito Moya, Jr. & wife Elizabeth of Huntsville, Anthony Moya & wife Gloria of Lubbock, Angie Moya of College Station, Elizabeth Martinez of Huntsville, Stephen Martinez of Houston, and Joanna Martinez of Navasota; sister, Janie Hernandez of Houston; brother, Robert Arauza of California; grandchildren, Sarah Rush, Kevin Moya, Jonathan Moya, Kenneth Moya, Amanda Moya, Faith Moya, Angelica Moya, Cody Roark, Jose Moya, Grace Moya, Christina Moya, Timothy Moya, and Abigail Moya; and great grandchildren, Lawrence Lerma, Juelz Rush, Joshua Lerma, Sedderick Rush Jr., and Devan Lerma.
She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Jesse Arauza; sisters, Carmen Silva and Caritina Arauza-Moreno; daughter, Cassimira Martinez; grandsons, Tristan Hernandez and Bobby Ray Lerma; and step son, Joseph Martinez.
