Clyde Howard

Clyde D. Howard, 84, of Navasota entered into rest Saturday, November 3, 2007.
Funeral services are set for 10:00 a.m. Thursday, November 8 at Nobles Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Dwain Steinkuehler of Anderson Baptist Church officiating. Interment will follow in Klein Memorial Park in Pinehurst at 1:00 p.m. Visitation will be Wednesday from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at Nobles Funeral Chapel. Arrangements are under the direction of Nobles Funeral Chapel.
Mr. Howard was born on April 10, 1923 in Owensboro, Kentucky, son of Emerean (Roberts) and Oliver Howard.
He was a member of the Carpenters Local #551 for 45 years and had just recently received his 50 year pin in the Masonic Lodge. Mr. Howard was also a member of the American Legion in Bryan. Prior to his illness, he was active and enjoyed coffee and fellowship with his "mall walker" friends. A wonderful husband, father, and papaw, he will be remembered most for his great sense of humor and outgoing personality.
He was preceded in death by his parents, five sisters and two brothers.
Mr. Howard leaves many cherished memories to all he leaves behind including his devoted wife of 61 years, Frances Howard; son and daughter-in-law, Brent and Janice Howard of Teague; daughters and son-in-laws, Diana and Ron Witt of Tomball, Karen and Bob Nichols of Waller, Janet and Larry Willoughby of Nashville, TN, Connie and Michael Crain of Cleburne, and Shelli and Michael James of Navasota; sixteen grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
Serving as pallbearers are his grandsons and his son-in-laws will serve as honorary pallbearers.
In lieu of flowers, charitable contributions may be made to the Alzheimers Association.
