Clyde Curry, 68, of Roans Prairie, passed away Friday, September 5, 2008, at his home surrounded by family after a courageous fight with cancer. A graveside service is scheduled for Tuesday, September 9 at 10:00 a.m. at Old Oakland Cemetery in Roans Prairie. Visitation will be held Monday beginning at 10:00 a.m. with the family present from 5:00 - 7:00 p.m. at Nobles Funeral Chapel.
Clyde was born in Arnolds Park, Iowa, Thursday, December 14, 1939, to Gilbert and Sophia Curry. He later moved to South Dakota and then on to California where he spent the majority of his life. On May 27, 1977, Clyde married Ottoma Koons in Huntington Beach, California. He and Toma left California and moved to Grimes County ten years ago to enjoy their retirement. When Clyde wasn't hunting, he could be found watching any type of sports but especially the U.S.C. Trojans or the Houston Texans. More than anything though, he enjoyed spending quality time with his loving family.
He was preceded in death by his parents and brothers, Chuck and Clarence Curry.
Clyde is survived by his wife of 31 years, Toma Curry; sons and daughters-in-law, Mike Curry of Long Beach, CA, Mark & Dusty Curry of Maryville, TN, Shawn & Gwen Curry of Austin, and Jonathon Curry of Austin; and 4 grandchildren.
