Mrs. Clero Allen Hurst, 92, of Navasota, passed away Monday, June 21 at the Grimes St. Joseph Health Center. A visitation will be held from 5-7pm Wednesday, June 23, and funeral services are set for 10am Thursday, both at Nobles Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Henry Sanders officiating. Interment will follow in Odd Fellows Cemetery in Anderson.
Clero was born in Piedmont on January 11, 1918, to Earl & Kate (Woodard) Allen. She married Marvin Hurst on April 2, 1938. She had a love for playing domino's, gardening, working in the yard, and cooking Sunday lunch for her family.
She was preceded in death by her husband; sons, James Hurst and Lloyd Allen Hurst; and daughter, Doris Ann Wagner.
Survivors include her son & daughters-in-law, Tommy & Molly Hurst, and Linda Hurst, all of Navasota; son-in-law, Arvin Wagner of Brenham; sisters, Katherine Truehitt of Iola, LaVenia La Rose of Navasota, and Annie Youens of Columbus; brother & sister-in-law, Cicero & Bernice Allen of Navasota; 5 grandchildren, 7 great-grandchildren.
Serving as pallbearers are Arvin Wagner of Brenham; Darrell Hurst of Anderson; Clint Hurst, Clif Buchanan & Kenneth Allen, all of Navasota; and John Earl Truhitt of Waco. Honorary pallbearer will be Jim Bob Trant.
