Clara Hiller Eickenhorst, 89 years old, went to be with her heavenly father on August 24, 2012, at the Sheridan Nursing Home in Navasota, Texas. A funeral service was held on August 29 at Noble's Funeral Chapel.
She was born November 17, 1922, in Priddy, Texas - the eldest of three daughters to Emma and Fred Hiller. They soon moved to Grimes County where she grew up in White Hall and Navasota.
After graduating from Navasota High School, Clara married and moved to Houston and Angleton. She returned to Navasota in 1973 where she resumed her friendships while working at Turner, Pierce & Fultz hardware. She remembered and dearly cared for everyone she met and was a long time member of Trinity Lutheran Church. She was known for always being ready and willing to help her many friends and family - making sure they were well cared for.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Emma Haferkamp Hiller and Frederick Leopold Hiller and her two sisters, Ada Collins & Mabel Colson. Her surviving relatives are her two daughters, Carol Antill of Houston and Peggy Green of Navasota; three grandchildren, Micah, Julie and Jenny; Three step grandchildren, Mark, Kevin and Donal; two great grandchildren and four step great grandchildren and numerous cousins, nieces, nephews and friends.
Clara dearly loved her true and loyal companion of many years, James White. Without his devotion and love, she would have left us much sooner. He and his family's unwavering love is an inspiration to us all. Words cannot express how much he has meant to her family.
Much thanks goes to Rosie Bennett who unselfishly was there for Clara all these years and because of her dedication has become a close part of the family. Thanks also to the Sheridan staff who diligently gave so much to her care.
The world is a better place because of Clara. May she rest in peace. We will miss you CC.
