Cicero Allen

January 11, 1918 — December 15, 2010

Mr. Cicero Allen, 92, of Anderson passed away Wednesday, December 15, 2010 at the Grimes St. Joseph Health Center in Navasota. A visitation will be held from 5-7pm Saturday, December 18, with a prayer service at 7pm, at Nobles Funeral Chapel. Funeral services are set for 2pm Sunday, December 19 at the Zion Lutheran Church in Anderson with the Rev. Dan Schoessow officiating. Interment will follow in the Allen Cemetery.
Mr. Allen was born on January 11, 1918 in Piedmont to Earl & Kate (Woodard) Allen. He married Bernice Leiber on November 18, 1949 in Anderson. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, serving in WWII where he received the Purple Heart, a member of the Cattle Raisers Association, and a member of the Navasota VFW Post #4006.
He was preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Addie Rutledge & Luvenia LaRose, and twin sister, Clero Hurst; and brothers, Mason Earl Allen, Charles K. Allen and Milton E. Allen.
Survivors include his wife, Bernice of Anderson; daughter, Janice Trant of Anderson; grandson, Jim-Bob Trant & wife Lauren of Anderson;
sisters, Anne Hanson of Columbus, and Kathryn Truehitt of Iola; sister-in-law, Doris Allen of Navasota and former son-in-law, Bud Trant.
Serving as pallbearers are John Truehitt of Lorena; Steve Powell of Navasota; Joseph Schulze and Randy Molitor of Anderson; Bobby Pistler of Bedias; Burnett Leiber, Jr. of Bryan; and Jim-Bob Trant of Anderson, and Clint Hurst of Navasota. Serving as an honorary pallbearers are Earl Rutledge of Las Vegas, NV, Leslie Allen of Bugota, and Tommy Hurst of Navasota.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Navasota VFW or Zion Lutheran Church.
