Christopher Paul Siracusa was born on July 2, 1949 in Huntington Beach, California. He passed away peacefully on June 29, 2020 at his home in Anderson, Texas. When he was nine years old, his family moved to Houston, Texas where he later graduated from Memorial High School. Chris then attended and graduated from Texas State Technical Institute in Waco earning his degree as a Veterinary Technician.
Many of his fondest memories were spent working with his Dad on the family ranch known as Dogwood Gulch. Chris always enjoyed working with cattle and buying and selling them at the local auctions; something he continued to do until recent months.
Chris also served his community in many ways over the years. He played an integral role in the founding of the Plantersville-Stoneham Volunteer Fire Department and made donations to the Whitehall Volunteer Fire Department as well as the Anderson-Shiro Independent School District.
His most substantial contribution to his community though was his service as a dedicated and loyal peace officer for almost thirty-one years. After graduating from Central Texas Police Academy in 1979, he began his career as a deputy sheriff with the Grimes County Sheriff’s Office and then as Police Chief with the Navasota Police Department. Chris also served as Precinct 2 Constable as well as a Deputy Sheriff with the Waller County Sheriff’s Office, retiring in 2010.
Chris was preceded in death by his parents, Dante and Dorris Siracusa, and his brother, Jere Siracusa. He is survived by his wife, Deanna Siracusa of Fort Worth, Texas; sons Steven Christopher Siracusa of Anderson, Texas and Anthony Paul Siracusa of San Marcos, Texas; sister Nicolette Voit of Houston, Texas and grandson Colton Christopher Siracusa of Anderson, Texas and many other extended family members.
A memorial service will be held at the Grimes County Sheriff’s Office in Anderson, Texas on Thursday, July 9, 2020 at 10:00 a.m. The family requests that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to the 100 Club of Houston or the American Cancer Society.
