Mr. Charles Ray Schwede, 61, of Anderson, passed away Thursday, May 21st at his residence. Visitation with family and friends will be at Nobles Funeral Chapel on Tuesday, May 26th from 5:00 – 7:00pm with a prayer service beginning immediately afterward. A celebration of his life will be on Wednesday, May 27th at 10:00am at Zion Lutheran Church in Anderson, with interment following in Odd Fellows Cemetery. Rev. Kermit Bostelman will officiate. Arrangements are under the direction of Nobles Funeral Chapel.
Charles was born on April 20, 1954 in Dallas to James H. and Lorene (Boehm) Schwede. He graduated from Tulia High School in 1972 and attended college at West Texas A&M , earning his bachelor’s degree in Finance. After a career in banking, he settled in Anderson, where he enjoyed working on the family ranch. He enjoyed woodworking, caring for his elderly parents, going to the movies and spending time with his grandchildren.
Mr. Schwede is survived by his mother, Lorene Schwede of Anderson; daughters and sons-in-law Amanda and Brandon Booth of Bryan and Lyndsey and Johnathon Christena of Austin; sister Barbara Davis of Lubbock; brother and sister-in-law Gary and Diana Schwede of Lubbock, and grandchildren Aidan and Sabrina Owens of College Station. He also leaves behind beloved friend Lynda and special friend, Kay.
He was preceded in death by his father, James H. Schwede.
Serving as pallbearers are Dr. Steven Simcik, Salvador Cervantes, Charlie Sontag, Charlie Kingston, Gary Borski and Hershel Perry, III.
