Mr. Charles F. Johnson, Jr., 79, of Anderson passed away Saturday, August 27, 2011 at the Navasota Nursing and Rehab Facility. The family will receive visitors from 6-8pm Tuesday at Nobles Funeral Chapel in Navasota. Funeral services are set for 10am Wednesday, August 31 at Bright Light Freewill Baptist Church with the Rev. Danny Davis and Rev. Eugene Richards officiating. Interment will follow in Evergreen Freewill Cemetery.
Charles was born in Frankfort, KY on August 15, 1932, the son of Charles Forrest Johnson and Mildred Fishback. He married Rita Blount on August 5, 1978 and loved her for 33 years. He served in the U.S. Army and was a member of the VFW in Bryan.
He was preceded in death by his father; and sister, Jean.
Survivors include his wife, Rita of Anderson; mother, Mildred of LaGrange, KY; cousin, TheresaWoosley of LaGrange, KY; daughters Michelle of Orlando, FL, and Julie and Tom Reardon of Bryan; son, Steven Trant and wife Christina of Houston; 12 grandchildren, and 4 great-grandchildren.
