Charles Hilley, 64, of Navasota passed away Tuesday, August 8th at his home. Visitation with family and friends will be held from 5:00 – 7:00pm, Friday, August 12th at Nobles Funeral Chapel. A celebration of his life will be at 3:00pm, Saturday, August 13th at New Hope Church in Navasota with interment to follow in Oakland Cemetery. Reverend Dr. Max Brand will officiate. Arrangements are under the direction of Nobles Funeral Chapel.
Charles was born in Bryan, Texas on May 28, 1952 to Wilbert and Naomi (Wood ) Hilley, Sr. He graduated from Navasota School and married Marilyn Ann Vacante in 1971. Together they raised three children. He was a life-long dairy farmer and recently retired from King Ranch Grass Farm. Charles loved working on the land. An avid farmer with a strong work ethic, working the land brought him fulfillment and satisfaction. He was a good provider and a family man. He considered his co-workers his extended family and he treated each of them as such.
Charles is survived by his wife of 45 years; daughter Lisa Ann Hilley of Navasota; sons Christopher Charles Hilley and Lewis Kyle Hilley, both of Navasota; sister Carolyn San Angelo of Bryan; brother Wilbert Hilley, Jr., of Navasota and grandchildren Sebasten Avery HIlley, Rachel Elizabeth Abke, Hattie Renae Abke and Natalie Nichole Hilley.
