Cecil Douglas Schroeder, 63 of Anderson, passed away Wednesday, August 21st at Baylor Scott & White Hospital in Temple, Texas. Visitation with family and friends will be held from 6:00 - 8:00 pm, Monday, August 26th at Nobles Funeral Chapel. A funeral service celebrating his life will be held at 10:00 am, Tuesday, August 27th at Zion Lutheran Church in Anderson with intermentfollowing in the church cemetery. Rev. Jeffrey King will officiate. Arrangements are under the direction of Nobles Funeral Chapel.
Cecil was born in Navasota, Texas on April 4, 1956 to Carl and Minnie (Becker) Schroeder. He graduated from Anderson High School and worked for the Texas Department of Transportation as a transportation tech assigned to special jobs that covered 10 counties for district 17. He worked there for almost 20 years until his retirement in 2018. Cecil loved animals, particularly cows and horses and on auction days you could always find him at the sale barn. A lifelong member of Zion Lutheran Church in Anderson, he was a very kind and loving person that would do anything for those he loved and cared about. He enjoyed more than anything, teasing his great niece and nephews.
Cecil is survived by his sister and brother-in-law, Mary Beth and Donald Yargo; brother and sister-in-law, Wesley and Barbara Schroeder; niece and nephew Donny Yargo and wife, Kaci and Shala Ray and husband, Will; and great nieces and nephews William and Bryson Ray and Kason and Brylee Yargo. He was preceded in death by his parents.
Serving as pallbearers are Jeffery Ketkoski, Chris Rolling, Donny Yargo, Carl Schroeder, Will Ray, Ryan Burzynski, Blake Burzynski and Tommy Sullivan. Honorary pallbearers are Kason and Brylee Yargo and William and Bryson Ray.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that memorial contributions be made to Zion Lutheran Church, 455 FM 149 West, Anderson, Texas 77830.
