Carroll Hempel

Mr. Carroll Hempel, 80, of Navasota, TX, formerly of Crestwood, KY passed away Tuesday, November 15, 2011 at the Grimes St. Joseph Health Center. A memorial service is set for 2pm Sunday, November 20 at Nobles Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Nancy Creason officiating. Interment will take place at a later date in the Stockholm Lutheran Church Cemetery in Stockholm, MN.
Carroll was born in Cokato, MN on August 17, 1931, the son of Ralph and Lillian (Peterson) Hempel. He married Shirley Breyfogle in Minneapolis, MN on April 25, 1959 and loved her for 52 years. He was a graduate of Marshall High School, and a graduate of the Dunwoody College of Technology in Minneapolis, MN. He was a member of the Lynn Grove United Methodist Church and also a veteran of the U.S. Army, serving from 1951 - 1953.
Carroll was preceded in death by his parents.
He is survived by his loving wife, Shirley Hempel of Navasota; daughters and son-in-law, Laurie and John Shine and Nancee Crowder, all of Navasota; son, Daniel Hempel of Crestwood, KY; grandchildren, Traci & Brian Colbert, Jenifer Shine, Laura Shine, Kenny and Amber Jester, Tyler Crowder, Rachel Hempel and Danielle Hempel; and great-grandchildren, Austin Shine and Lillie Colbert.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Carroll's honor to the Lynn Grove United Methodist Church, 16402 CR 319, Navasota, TX 77868.
