Mrs. Carroll Marie Clifton

Carroll Coleman Clifton, 94, of Katy, formerly of Mart, Texas, passed away November 30, 2014.
She was the daughter of the late Joe and Tippa Coleman and the wife of the late Robert I. Clifton. She was proceeded in death by her son, Robert C. (Bobby) Clifton and his wife Betty. Carroll is survived by her daughter, Julia Clifton Whitted and her husband Davis. She has a surviving sister, Beatrice Ann Coleman Hinton. She was the loving Nana to 7 grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren, and 14 great, great grandchildren.
Carroll was born in Battle, Texas on Dec. 22, 1919. She graduated from Mart High School in 1936 and
attended Texas Woman’s University (formerly Texas State College for Women). On Sept. 11, 1938, she
married Robert in Battle, Texas and moved to Houston where he was employed by Gulf Oil. They
returned to Mart in 1972 where she lived until moving to Katy in May 2012. Carroll will be greatly
missed by all who knew and loved her. A private, family graveside service is planned in Navasota, Texas.
