Bobbie Dean McGee, Sr., 84, of Navasota, passed away Sunday, March 30th at his residence. Visitation with family and friends will be held at Nobles Funeral Chapel on Tuesday, April 1st from 5:00 – 7:00pm. A funeral service is planned for Wednesday, April 2nd at 10:00am, also at the funeral chapel.
He was born September 24, 1929 in Navasota to Wesley and Hattie Lois (Allen) McGee. Bobbie married Audrey Burns on September 1, 1949 at the First Baptist Church of Navasota. Together they raised a daughter and a son. Mr. McGee enjoyed making memories with his grandchildren at Buchanan Dam and enjoyed gambling trips to Louisiana. He worked in the oilfield and also owned McGee Exxon until 1990.
Mr. McGee is survived by his wife, Audrey Burns McGee; daughter Sarah Levy and husband Tim of Navasota; son Bobbie McGee, Jr., and wife Sharon of Navasota; sisters & brother-in-law JoAnn Minsky of Anderson and Bettye and Robert Ritcher of Ft. Worth; sisters-in-law Ima Myrle Burns McDuffie of Iola, Leona Burns Bess of Iola and Patricia Burns of Florida; grandchildren Wesley McGee and fiancée Tammy King, Kellie McGee and Benjamin Levy; great grandchildren Amanda Berry, Junior and Kendall King; and great-great grandchild Kandice King.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Wesley and Hattie Lois McGee.
