Betty Laird

Mrs. Betty T. Laird, 81, of Navasota, passed away Saturday, December 5, 2009 at the College Station Medical Center. Visitation will be held from 5:00-7:00 pm Monday at Nobles Funeral Chapel. Funeral services are set for 2:00pm Tuesday at First Baptist Church with Rev. Clyde Larrabee officiating. Interment will follow in Oakland Cemetery in Navasota.
Mrs. Laird was born March 18, 1928 in Elysian Fields, TX, to Albert Tiller and Jennie Lou (Bell) Sproles. She married W.S. (Bill) Laird on April 7, 1946, and loved him for 63 years before his death earlier this year. They moved from Houston in 1968, and settled in White Hall. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Navasota, the Navasota Order of the Eastern Star (OES), and a charter member of the Mt. Houston OES. She lived worldwide with her husband and children.
Betty was preceded in death by her husband and her mother.
Survivors include her daughter, Linda Laird Anderson and husband Kenneth of Willis; son, William S. "Bill" Laird, Jr. and wife Tommie Jo of White Hall; 4 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren, 2 great-great grandchildren, and many relatives and friends.
