Mr. Bernard "Bernie" Roese, 88, of Washington passed away Monday, March 21st at his home. Visitation with family and friends will be held from 5:00 - 7:00pm, Friday, March 25th at Nobles Funeral Chapel. A celebration of his life will be at 2:00pm, Saturday, March 26th at Frieden's Church of Washington, U.C.C. with interment following in the church cemetery. Rev. Greg Felder will officiate. Arrangements are under the care of Nobles Funeral Chapel.
Bernie was born in Washington, Texas on September 5, 1927 to Emil and Frieda (Lauter) Roese. He attended high school and then proudly served his country in the U. S. Army. He met and married Maeola Boehm and they settled in Washington. He delivered mail as a rural route carrier for the U. S. Postal Service for many years. He was a member of Friedens Church of Washington, U.C.C. and the Sons of Hermann Lodge #178 in Washington.
He is survived by numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.
Preceding him in death were his parents; wife Maeola Roese; and sisters Hildagard Roese Meeks and Mary Elizabeth Roese.
Serving as pallbearers are Kevin Homeyer, Ken Homeyer, Russell Bond, Chad McKay, Larry Madison, Robbie Roese, Ray Lauter and Don Hinze.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that friends consider a memorial donation in his name to Frieden’s Church of Washington, U.C.C.
