Barbara Louise Jones-Lindsay-Runyon-Fly was born August 16, 1953 in Livingston, Texas and succumb to cancer on March 1, 2024 in Navasota, Texas. A memorial service celebrating her life will be held Saturday, May 4th, at 2:00 PM at Nobles Funeral Chapel.
Her birth name was Louise Jones. Her birth father was Windford Jones and her birth mother was Ruth Jones-Childres. She had four brothers and four sisters all of whom were put up for adoption in 1957.
Barbara was adopted by Ruel and Mae Dell Lindsay at the age of four. Her name prior to adoption was Louise, but she told the judge that her name was Barbara and that is how she became Barbara Louise Lindsay.
Her new family consisted of her parents and three older brothers Raymond, Billy Ray and Bobby Joe. Barbara and Bobby Joe were particularly close growing up as siblings.
Barbara grew up in Cleveland, TX where she graduated Cleveland High School. She married Patrick Runyon in 1971. They had one son Patrick (Packit) Wayne Runyon who was born March 18, 1973; who was the love of Barbara’s life. Unfortunately, Packit passed suddenly of a heart attack on August 23, 2022.
When Barbara met Jack C. Fly, her current husband, she was working as an office manager for a doctor’s office in Cleveland, TX. Barbara and Jack spent many wonderful years together and both enjoyed hunting, fishing and an occasional trip to the casinos.
Barbara was blessed to have many roles throughout her life as wife, mother, sister, daughter and dear friend to many.
Barbara was preceded in death by her son Patrick, her parents Ruel and Mae Dell Lindsay, brothers Raymond and Billy Ray Lindsay and a nephew Wayne Lyndsay. Surviving members are her husband Jack Fly, her brother Bobby Joe Lindsay, sister-n-law Bessie Lindsay, Nieces: Kim Dowden, Lisa Henderson, Sheila Lindsay, Rhonda Tucker, Jo Ellen Gardiner and Teresa Rogers. Nephews: Matthew, Joshua, Travis Lindsay and prior husband Patrick Runyon
As well as nephew that was especially close to Barbara and Packit: James (Larry) Helm and wife Gina.
Arrangements are under the direction of Nobles Funeral Chapel in Navasota, TX.
