Mrs. Audrey L. Jarvis, 87 of Iola, passed away Saturday, April 6 at Hospice Brazos Valley Inpatient Facility in Bryan. Visitation with the family will be Tuesday, April 9 from 5:00-7:00pm at Nobles Funeral Chapel. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, April 10 at 2:00pm at Martins Prairie Missionary Baptist Church in Keith with the Rev. Mitchell Beene officiating. Interment will follow in Martins Prairie Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Nobles Funeral Chapel.
Audrey was born on July 31, 1931 to Arnold and Hattie (Fitzgibbons) Beckham. She married Wilson Jarvis in Iola on October 9, 1948. Together they raised six children. A devoted wife and mother, Audrey doted on her family. She enjoyed gardening and the satisfaction of canning/preserving each years harvest. After her husband, Wilson, passed away in 2011, Audrey passed her days by reading or watching vintage western movies on the television.
She is survived by daughters and son-in-law Vera Humphrey of Iola, Patricia and James Mills of Iola and Polly Pearce of Kingwood; sons and daughter-in-law Danny Jarvis of College Station and Don and Amy Jarvis of Navasota; sister-in-law Lena Jarvis of Navasota; ten grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren and four great, great-grandchildren.
Serving as pallbearers are James Humphrey, Ricky Humphrey, Josh Humphrey, Chirs Jarvis, Dylan Kempenski and Kenny Jarvis.
Mrs. Jarvis was preceded in death by her parents; husband Wilson; daughter Billie Jean Javis Messer, sister Mary Frances Beckham Glass and grandson William Joseph Messer.
