Mrs. Anna Mae Bay, 85, of Anderson, passed away Friday, April 27, 2012, at her home. Visitation with the family will be Monday from 9-11am at Nobles Funeral Chapel. Graveside services will follow at 11:30 in the Whitehall Fairview Cemetery with the Rev. Clyde Larrabee officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Nobles Funeral Chapel.
Anna Mae was born in Navasota on November 15, 1926, to Elliott Ellison & Anna (McGee) Dedmon. After graduating from Navasota High School, she married Ernest Hulon Bay in Anderson on February 6, 1949. The couple owned and operated W.E. Bay & Sons Grocery in Anderson for over 30 years. Both also served as Chairman of the Board of the First National Bank of Anderson. Anna Mae was also a member of the Order of the Eastern Star.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her beloved husband, Hulon Bay.
Mrs. Bay is survived by her sons and daughters-in-law, Elliott & Andrea Leone-Bay of Ridgefield, CT, Thomas & Sarah Bay of Houston, and Edward & Jocelyne Bay of Austin; and her grandchildren, Melissa Brown and her husband Phillip of Houston, Abigail Bay of Ridgefield, CT, James Bay of Houston, and Nicholas Bay of Austin.
Serving as pallbearers are Elliott Bay, Edward Bay, Thomas Bay, Bill Bay, Phillip Brown, and Tommy Szymczak.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Fairview Whitehall Cemetery Perpetual Care Fund or St. Jude's Children Hospital.
