Ann York Grupa, 94, of Anderson peacefully passed away on Sunday, May 15th. Visitation with family and friends will be held from 5:00 – 7:00pm, Wednesday, May 18th at Nobles Funeral Chapel with a parish rosary following at 7:00pm. A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:00am, Thursday, May 19th at St. Stanislaus Catholic Church in Anderson. Rev. Rodolfo “JoJo” Cal-Ortiz will be the celebrant. Rite of Committal will be in the church cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Nobles Funeral Chapel.
Ann was born on October 14, 1921. She lived her entire life in Grimes County with the exception of her high school years where she attended an all girls Catholic High School in Dearborn, MI. She returned to Anderson and married Harold Grupa on October 14, 1941. They were blessed with seven children. She loved her family, baking, gardening and quilting. Those closest to her enjoyed her spunky nature and generous spirit. She possessed both an inner and outer beauty.
Ann is survived by daughters Marianne Pavlock and husband Walter, Bernadine Wishkoski , Frances Fuller and husband Wayne; sons Patrick Grupa, Thomas Grupa and wife Donna, and David Grupa; daughter-in-law, Martha Grupa; grandchildren Danny Grupa, Lisa Brooks and husband Scott, Donnie Pavlock and wife Tina; Douglas Pavlock and wife Leslie, Rod Wishkoski, Kim Vaught and husband Wayne; Tamara Rook and husband Terry, Jason Fuller and wife Cindy, Melissa Daye and husband Matt, Tom Grupa, Michael Grupa and wife Bridget; and great-grandchildren Taylor and Chase Brooks, Morgan and Sarah Pavlock, Luke, Nikki and Shelby Vaught, Tanner Rook, Adam and Ryan Fuller, Ava and Audrey Daye and John Michael Grupa.
She was a lifetime member of St. Stanislaus Catholic church and a member of the Rosary Society.
Preceding her in death were her parents Mike and Mary York; husband Harold Grupa, son Daniel Grupa and son-in-law Clifford Wishkoski.
As her spirit lives on in each of our hearts, leaving us the legacy of love and allowing us to feel gratitude for having been blessed to have her in our lives.
