Anita R. Benker, 84, of Navasota passed away Monday, December 3, 2007 at St. Joseph Regional Health Center in Bryan.
Funeral services are set for 3:00 p.m. Wednesday, December 5 at Friedens United Church of Christ in Washington with the Rev. Ron Trimmer officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. Visitation will be Tuesday at Nobles Funeral Chapel with the family present from 5:30 - 7:30 pm. Arrangements are under the direction of Nobles Funeral Chapel.
Mrs. Benker was born on July 21, 1923 in Washington, daughter of Freida H. (Holle) and Reinhardt H. Roese.
Anita married Ewald Benker in Washington on October 25, 1945. She was a member of the Women's Fellowship at Friedens U.C.C. and the Sons of Hermann Lodge in Washington.
Mrs. Benker was preceded in death by her husband, parents, and a sister, Florine Roese.
She is survived by her daughters and sons-in-law, Beverly A. & Larry B. Miller of Belton, Lavonne & Joey Helms of Flint, and Arlene & J. Derrol Herzog of Washington; sister and brother-in-law, Kathryn & John C. Langhoff of Yoakum; grandchildren, Michael D. Miller of Mesquite, Karen & Todd Scott of Belton, and Kristyn Herzog and fianc?e Brian Smith of Washington; and great-grandchildren, Brady & Chance Scott.
Serving as pallbearers are Michael D. Miller, Todd Scott, Brian Smith, Brian Langhoff, Don Wayne Roese, and John A. Langhoff.
In lieu of flowers, charitable contributions may be made in her memory to Friedens U.C.C. in Washington.
