Angelita Baldobino Garcia, 90, of Navasota passed away Wednesday, April 20 at the St. Joseph Regional Health Center in Bryan. The family will receive visitors Friday at 5pm at Nobles Funeral Chapel with a parish rosary beginning at 7pm. A funeral mass will be celebrated at 10am Saturday at Christ Our Light Catholic Church with the Rev. Rodolfo "Jojo" L. Cal-Ortiz officiating. Rite of committal will follow in Oakland Cemetery.
Angelita was born in Courtney, Texas on June 4, 1920 to Willie and Mary (Sistos) Baldobino. She married Joseph Garcia, Sr. in Navasota on February 2, 1935. She had a passion for sewing, gardening and knitting.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; daughter, Tomasita Garcia; sisters, Consuelo, Lucille and Modesta; and brothers, Pascual, Ignacio, Jacinto, Genaro, Delores and Valentin.
Survivors include her daughters and son-in-law, Andrea Abad and Frances and Jim Ostigin, all of Navasota; sons and daughter-in-law, John B. Garcia and Joseph, Jr. and Polly Garcia, all of Navasota; brothers and sisters-in-law, David Baldobino of Livingston, Willie and Janie Baldobino of Navasota, and Andrew and Elena Baldobino of Houston; 12 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; and 8 great-great grandchildren.
Serving as pallbearers are Manuel Flores, II of Lufkin; Chris Paredes of Grand Prairie; Sammy Perez, Jr., Sammy Perez III, and Roy Torres, all of Bryan; and Bennie Torres of Navasota. Honorary pallbearers are Vanessa Ostigin of Navasota and Cleto Garcia of Grand Prairie.
