A memorial service will be held Nov. 29, 2012, at 4 p.m., celebrating Andrew "Jack" Jackson Rumfield III at Nobles Funeral Chapel in Navasota, Texas.

Jack was born in Navasota Texas Sept. 3, 1953. He was a life long resident of Navasota and was retired. Jack was an "Aggie" and graduated from A&M in 1976. After graduating, he went to work for the Western Company and later worked for Schult Mobile Homes as an electrician, bus driver for Navasota and a prison guard until health failed him. He then became the gardener, the cook and the fisherman, all in what he enjoyed to the fullest.

He was a member of AA and NA for over 20 years and had many friends that he would open his house if they were in crisis. Jack had Thanksgiving dinner for all of those close to him, and would fix his favorite pies and his traditional Thanksgiving dinner. His friends will miss him dearly, with that witty grin and just being Jack.

Jack was preceded in death by his parents, Andrew Jackson Rumfield Jr. and Corinne Rumfield.

Jack is survived by his sisters, Cindy Blackburn of New Braunfels,Texas and June Smith of College Station, Texas.

Nephews serving him are Colemann Derryberry of Ft. Worth, Texas and Charles "Scott" Clary of College Station, Texas; and his cousin, John Frank Enlow of College Station, Texas.

He also leaves behind his"Fishing Buddy" and true friend Robert "Bob" Shirley and his dog "Doc,"along with all of his AA and NA members.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial gifts be sent to NA.
