Alvena Leiber

Mrs. Alvena (Schroeder) Leiber, 96, of Anderson passed away Wednesday, January 20, at the Grimes St. Joseph Health Center in Navasota. Visitation will be held from 5:00pm to 8:00pm Friday, January 22 at Nobles Funeral Chapel. Funeral services are set for 2:00pm Saturday, January 23 at Zion Lutheran Church in Anderson, with Rev. Walter F. Albers officiating. Interment will follow in Zion Church Cemetery.
Alvena was born in Anderson on July 21, 1913, to W.F. and Katie (Eickenhorst) Schroeder. She married George Leiber in Anderson, on November 14, 1935, and was a member of the Farm Bureau, Zion Lutheran Church, and Lutheran Women's Missionary League.
Mrs. Leiber was preceded in death by her parents; husband; and brother, George Schroeder.
She is survived by her brother, Raymond Schroeder & wife Wyvon of Port Neches; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Serving as pallbearers are Jerry Leiber of Sealy, Kenneth Leiber of Ft. Worth, Billy Schroeder of Anderson, Franklin Schroeder of Bryan, James Schroeder of Huntsville, and Eric Tennyson of Houston.
