Mrs. Alma Virginia Kuta, 83, of Plantersville passed away Saturday, May 12, 2012, at Odyssey Hospice in Conroe. Visitation will be Monday, May 14 from 5:00-7:00 pm at Nobles Funeral Chapel with a parish rosary to follow. A funeral mass will be celebrated Tuesday, May 15 at 10:30 am at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Stoneham with the Rev. Ed Kucera officiating. Rite of committal will follow in the church cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Nobles Funeral Chapel.
Alma was born on September 1, 1928, in Plantersville, the daughter of Lee & Lena (Lebeck) Busa. She married Vance Kuta in Plantersville on January 31, 1953, and raised their family on their farm in Plantersville. One of the most cherished memories her grandkids take with them are the times spent with her in the watermelon field and the trips to Houston to get bread to feed the animals. In addition, the grandchildren all have some Polish vocabulary thanks to their grandmother. They all knew that they were loved tremendously.
Mrs. Kuta was a faithful member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church for many years where she served on the Altar Society assisted with the church bazaars.
Alma was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and a sister, Louise Roese.
She is survived by her sons, Mark Kuta of Plantersville and Tim Kuta and wife Sandra of Plantersville; sisters, Ann Wilson and Verna Kaminski, both of Plantersville; brother, Dan Busa of North Zulch; 8 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren.
Serving as pallbearers are Elvin Kutac of Plantersville, Robbie Roese of Washington, D.J. Busa of Crockett, Matthew Kuta of Carlos, Dustin Kuta of Plantersville, Jeremy Harmon of College Station, and Justin Bleeker of Madisonville.
