Mrs. Alice Fay Obaya, 80 of Bedias passed away Wednesday, October 4th at BrightPointe at Rivershire Nursing Facility in Conroe. Visitation with family and friends will be from 5:00 – 7:00 pm, Friday, October 6th at Nobles Funeral Chapel. A celebration of her life will be held at 10:00am, Saturday, October 7th at Westway Baptist Church in Huntsville, Texas with interment to follow in Oakland Cemetery in Navasota. Rev. John High will officiate. Arrangements are under the direction of Nobles Funeral Chapel.
Mrs. Obaya was born in Navasota on May 30, 1937 to Everett and Myrtle (Patterson) Williamson. She married Joe Obaya Octobner 17, 1970 and together they blended the families each of them had from a prior marriage. Alice enjoyed sewing, cooking and tending her flower beds. She loved children and at one time or another babysat most of the children on her road and the surrounding area. Her grandbabies and great grands were the love of her life and she treasured family time and holidays spent with them. She was an avid collector of dolls and frog knick knacks.
She is survived by her daughter, Debbie Brewer of Montgomery; son Jim “Jimmy” Brewer, Jr., of Trinity; stepdaughter Glenda Robbins of Sheppard; stepson Joe Dale Obaya and wife Naomi of Woodville; sister and brother-in-law Doris and Dean Richmond of Oakwood; brother W. H. Williamson of Deer Park; eight grandchildren and twelve great-grandchildren.
Serving as pallbearers are James Everett Brewer, Randy Emerson, Johnny Emerson, James Liles, John Busa and Briana Emerson.
Mrs. Obaya was preceded in death by her parents; husband Joe Obaya and brother and sister-in-law Arvel and Joyce Williamson.
