Monte Edwards, 62, of Navasota, passed away at home on Saturday, January 20, 2024. A graveside service celebrating Monte’s life will be held at 1pm, Monday, January 29, 2024, in Sandy Cemetery in Blanco County, outside of Johnson City, Texas. Services are under the direction of Nobles Funeral Chapel.
Monte was born in Dallas, Texas, to his parents Ned and Mauretta Joy Shumate Edwards, on Monday, October 2, 1961. He is a graduate of Mesquite High School, Class of 1980. He went on to receive an undergraduate degree in Business Management. He met Karin Ann Waugh at the Mesquite Rodeo and they married on June 20, 1990, in Las Vegas at Little Chapel of the West. Their lives together would allow them to live in various states. He would eventually be employed with Suddenlink Communications for many years.
Monte and Karin would welcome their most amazing gifts to their marriage, Allison and Cash. He was the best dad, husband, and tour guide to his family. Monte’s sense of humor was to consistently stir the pot with friends and family, specifically the younger generations. His passions were always focused around quarter horses and last minute road trips across the western half of the United States. Monte felt called in his own ways to always grow his relationship with Jesus and others.
His mother Mauretta Edwards preceded him in death.
He is survived by his wife of 33 years, Karin Ann Edwards; his daughter Allison and husband Quadye Addison; his son, Cash Edwards; his father, Ned Edwards; his only brother, Tracy and wife Krissy Edwards; and numerous nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, Monte requested donations be made to St. Jude’s Children's Hospital in his honor.
